# Opti.Tax Release 21.1.0: How it works with the cloud
**Opti.Tax Release 21.1.0 introduces the eagerly awaited interface to the [Opti.Tax Cloud](../../en/products/opti-tax-cloud/index.md). However, the word „cloud“ has now become a popular buzzword. Whether it’s data storage or collaborative working, „cloud“ can mean anything these days. hsp has very specific ideas about what the Opti.Tax Cloud needs to be capable of. Namely, to help ensure that there are even fewer media breaks in future. Paul Liese discussed and presented what this looks like with senior developer Fabian Klapproth in the latest episode of ‘hsp live at 11’.**

Before we get properly started with the update, Paul has a big announcement: the hsp.community app is now available on the Apple App Store. Having already been released on the Google Play Store, iOS and iPad users now have something to look forward to as well. What’s more, „hsp live at 11“ is finally being streamed on LinkedIn too. With this welcome news announced, we move straight on to the main topic: Opti.Tax Cloud.

As a developer, Fabian is primarily responsible for the Opti.Tax Windows client. To begin with, he creates a test client to demonstrate the features. The client is automatically linked to the cloud with just a few clicks. You can then immediately see the possibilities available to the consultancy.

## Intuitive cloud integration

First, Fabian demonstrates how to request information from the client regarding specific items. This can be done in just a few clicks by ticking or unticking checkboxes. A personalised interview is then sent to the client. As an example, Fabian mentions a situation where data was already requested last year and this year only an update or addition is required. In this case, rather than repeating the entire questionnaire with redundant questions, I simply collect the few pieces of missing information – this saves a great deal of time for both the client and the consultancy. Paul Liese adds that this applies to every taxonomy: whether it’s e-balance sheets, transfer pricing documentation or anti-money laundering – it doesn’t matter at all. In other words, one less change of medium.

Fabian continues with his test run: he assigns the interview to a person on the client side who is to complete it. That person then receives an email with the cloud login details and can get started straight away. The consultancy side can now see that an interview has been assigned and is in progress. Fabian then goes to the client portal and logs in to the cloud using the email link. Once logged in, he immediately sees the interview and answers the listed questions directly in his browser – without having to install any software or face any other hurdles. Under the „Conversation“ section, the consultancy and the client can communicate directly within the interview project. This means that all questions relating to this interview are stored in the cloud, linked to the interview itself.

## Easily add and manage contacts

Fabian then creates sample employee records. If the consultant lacks information on this, they can send a mini-interview specifically regarding this employee to the client. This allows the client to fill in the missing details. Once this is done, the consultant can see that the tasks have been completed. With a single click, they can retrieve the information from the cloud.

As already indicated, this applies to any taxonomy. That is to say, to process steps in documentation, when [Tax Compliance Management System](../../en/tcms-tax-compliance-management-system/index.md), etc. – any missing information can be obtained directly, without the client having to search for it. The consultancy can also rest assured that the information will be loaded directly into the correct fields, without the need for manual entry.

Paul now asks what the situation is regarding the client’s external staff or service providers – for example, if information from the IT service provider is required for a piece of documentation. In this case, says Fabian, there is a general user management system. This is assigned to the client and includes all users, whether internal or external staff.

Should an employee leave the company at the client’s request, that person can be removed and deactivated in the cloud. This, too, can be done in just a few clicks. This ensures that all data remains secure and up to date.

## Further features currently under development

One member of the audience asks an interesting question about what happens in a multilingual context. If, for example, information is requested from people who speak a foreign language, it would surely be helpful if the interview were available directly in the correct language. Paul replies that the texts adapt to the browser’s language settings. In future, all texts are to be displayed automatically in the users’ respective languages. The hsp development team is currently working on full DeepL integration.

The next „hsp live at 11“ will pick up straight away with the topic of Opti.Tax Cloud. We’ll then delve even deeper into the possibilities, such as collaboration with clients, external third parties, and so on.
