Opti.Tax version 23.0.0 is just round the corner. On „hsp live at 11“, Paul Liese presented the key new features. The programme also covered other important topics that hsp is addressing. One key focus is the area of money laundering, particularly the requirements for tax advisers.
Paul begins the livestream by presenting Opti.Tax version 23.0.0. The first new feature: with a single click on an icon, the processing status for each project can now be exported as an Excel spreadsheet. The icon is located in the project management section above the overview and shows a sheet of paper with a green upward-pointing arrow. The generated table provides a quick overview of which tasks still need to be completed in each project.
Second new feature: statuses. The existing status options were not sufficient for some users. The new version of Opti.Tax will therefore offer the option to create custom statuses. This function is available under the menu item Window -> Settings -> General (expand) -> Processing Status. The default statuses are displayed there. If you wish to add your own status, expand the status that most closely matches the subject of your new status. The option „Add status“ will appear. You can now type in the desired status. Click „OK“ to save it. Your custom status is now available as a sub-item of the existing status. Example: Under the status „In progress“, the new status „In progress – reception“ is created. If you hover the mouse pointer over „Change status“ in the context menu, the option „In progress – reception“ appears under the status „In progress“.
Detailed improvements to meet individual requirements
Next item: the Federal Gazette and the Companies Register. Annual accounts for financial years beginning after 31 December 2021 must be submitted to the Companies Register. The interface is included in Opti.Tax. Please note: Each user requires their own login to submit the documents. There is no shared firm account.
Another new feature: in the reporting section, you can now insert page breaks manually. This is because it can sometimes happen that only the title of a section fits at the end of a page, whilst the main body of text does not begin until the next page. To start the new page with the title, right-click on the relevant topic section in the project structure to open the context menu. Clicking on „Start on a new page“ resolves the issue.
hsp has set itself ambitious targets for this year
The module is currently a major topic of discussion Money laundering. The hsp development team is expanding the module so that law firms and professionals can address this important issue in even greater depth and breadth. Money laundering and the Money Laundering Act (GwG) will play a key role at hsp in the coming months, both in terms of software and communications. Working closely with partner law firms, hsp is enhancing the programme and developing guidance on the subject of money laundering.
In addition, hsp is addressing the issue of digital emergency files. Together with a partner law firm in Berlin, hsp is working on a solution that will enable law firms to create emergency files in collaboration with their clients. The emergency file contains important personal details, such as the holders of powers of attorney, areas of responsibility, and so on. Should a person within the company suddenly be unable to carry out their duties – for example, due to an accident, illness or death – this vital information will be readily available. This is because it is not uncommon for those who are unable to work to no longer be available for consultation or contact. Particularly when a sole director dies, the absence of an emergency plan can threaten the very existence of the company.
