It all started on a small and manageable scale more than three decades ago. Not in a garage, but in a living room nonetheless, four ambitious lads set up their PCs. Handels-Software-Partner was born.
We are an owner-managed company, completely free from the pressures of holding companies, investors and corporate groups.

We are committed to Germany as a business location, take our social responsibilities seriously and support our customers and staff. At the same time, we have an international presence, think globally and set no limits for ourselves. In this video, we introduce ourselves to you briefly.
The Hamburg-based software company hsp has been in existence since 1991. Initially, hsp Handels-Software-Partner GmbH specialised in ERP software, specifically the Comet programmes from Nixdorf. Subsequently, the fledgling company supported, amongst other things, the changeover to the new postcodes in the early 1990s.
In 2001, the GDPdU (Principles Governing Data Access and the Verifiability of Digital Records) was adopted; this was the precursor to the GoBD. In response, hsp became the first company to develop a report-based archiving solution capable of extracting GDPdU-compliant data from all kinds of third-party systems: Opti.List.
In December 2008, as part of the Tax Bureaucracy Reduction Act, it was decided that the submission of an e-balance sheet via data transmission would become mandatory. Following a thorough evaluation, work began on an in-house, forward-looking IT solution: Opti.Tax was born.
The comprehensive taxonomy solution now offers an unrivalled range of functions, with numerous modules and interfaces (Bundesanzeiger, Creditreform, DATEVconnect and many more). As a result, hsp saves its users the hassle of cumbersome and unnecessary media breaks. Furthermore, usability and support have been continuously improved over the years.
Today, new modules, features and optimisations are regularly developed at the headquarters in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. The team is in constant contact with customers, partners and industry experts. This enables feedback, requests and legal requirements to be incorporated into Opti.Tax immediately. In addition, exciting, freely available content for hsp.tv is produced in the in-house recording studio.
The former IT specialist has evolved into a key point of contact, a driving force in the industry and an opinion leader. Whether tax or process consultants, financial experts or entrepreneurs – hsp develops solutions not just for, but together with its clients and partners.
Because this is part of who we are: we don’t sell software, but rather a partnership that is packed with added value, insights and ideas.
