Patch Updates
Changes in Patch 5
- In rare cases, an error occurred whilst generating the XBRL data (e-balance sheet / Federal Gazette / DiFin), causing the processing to be terminated
- The data reorganisation may have failed if the transfer invoice had previously been processed in the tax modification during the same application run
- When entering changes in values in the reconciliation statement, the application might stop responding for a prolonged period if items were being reconciled that do not appear in the standard balance sheet or profit and loss account
- Changes in value in the reconciliation statement did not take full effect when items were reconciled that do not appear in the standard balance sheet/profit and loss account
- In the „Project Data“ live report in the S+E view, the fixed assets statement was no longer included
- Corresponding figures from the previous year for virtual accounts were not shown in Federal Gazette projects
- When using the H2 database, the deletion of existing S+E projects failed when switching to the S+E view, if the shareholder with the referenced shareholder ID no longer existed in the ‚General Information‘ report section, or if it was stated there that they no longer required an S/E balance sheet
- The data reorganisation failed due to duplicate selection elements with an invalid parent position reference
Changes in Patch 4
- The connection to SQL Anywhere databases was faulty
- The robustness of the update has been improved for installations that have been updated over several years
- In exceptional cases, creating a project copy could fail if a virtual account incorrectly contained default allocations from a balance list import
Changes in Patch 3
- In the E-Balance Sheet Taxonomy 6.1 MicroBilG, the reporting component ‘Profit and Loss Account in accordance with MicroBilG’ was not automatically declared
- The „Account Allocations“ live report failed in some cases
- When creating a project via the command line or connector without specifying a taxonomy ID, version 6.0 of the E-Balance Sheet Core Taxonomy was still being used instead of 6.1
- In Bundesanzeiger projects, no previous year’s figure was displayed for account mappings
- A data reorganisation could remove manually entered previous year’s figures if no value for the current year had been recorded for that taxonomy item
- In year-end closing projects, previous year’s figures may have been removed as part of the data reorganisation
- The conversion of Elster error messages into understandable names for taxonomy items could, in some cases, fail and lead to errors
Changes in Patch 2
- After importing master data into E-Bilanz projects, the menu option for transferring/importing tables might no longer be available
- The application removes further obsolete programme components following the update
- Recalculation resulting from data reorganisation led to an incorrect calculated value if both a virtual account and standard accounts were assigned to a taxonomy item at the same time
- Data reorganisation now also removes duplicates of values that are only allowed to exist once
- Elster validation resulted in an error if no company identification numbers had yet been entered in the project
Changes in Patch 1
- A statement of fixed assets showing NIL was incorrectly presented in the announced reporting components of the general information
- Unfilled selections in tuples containing NIL could lead to validation errors in E-balances
- In the case of virtual accounts, following a data reorganisation, it was possible that the account would no longer have any effect on the associated taxonomy item if the account was the only one assigned to it
- Following a reorganisation of the data, zero-euro balances on top-level accounts in the capital account statement were deemed to have no residual value
- When restoring data backups, there were instances where user assignments to authorisation groups were not restored
- In electronic balance sheets, the account balances were not disclosed and were therefore not reported

- Documentation Taxonomy: Process Documentation 3.0: The details relating to „risk“ and „opportunity“ in „risk management“ were not a tuple and could therefore only be recorded once

- It was not possible to activate the database using an activation code when the application started, due to the absence of a settings page
Changes in Patch 3
- The validity period for some taxonomies was incorrectly displayed in the Project Asset Wizard when selecting the taxonomy version
- Attempts to set up E-Bilanz projects through interviews failed in the case of partnerships and sole traders
Changes in Patch 2
- When validating in E-Bilanz projects via the sub-menu of the ELSTER button, mandatory fields that had not been completed were only automatically set to ‘NIL’ on the second run
- Importing tables in OfficeFiler could fail if only text values, and no monetary values, were maintained in a context
- Documentation Taxonomy: Process Documentation 3.0: Multiple entries for „Individual employee details“ and „Software versions“ could not be recorded correctly
- Documentation projects: The table containing multiple entries was primarily populated with the columns „Apply selection“ and „Left-align text“ instead of the relevant data columns

New features and fixes in version 17.1
The latest version of ERiC (25.3.6.0) has been implemented in Opti.Tax version 17.1. The new ERiC plug-in contains the latest list of tax offices supported by ELSTER and incorporates the tax office data as per the BZSt fadat.zip file dated 22 September 2016, as well as the changes to the tax offices described below:
Saxony
- On 27 June 2016, the Grimma and Borna tax offices were merged at the Grimma site. The Borna tax office (tax office number 3235) was closed as part of this merger.
- On 1 December 2016, the Pirna and Freital tax offices were merged at the Pirna site. The Freital tax office (tax office number 3206) was closed as part of this merger.
The inclusion of old tax office numbers in selection lists is neither intended nor necessary; they are therefore blocked via ELSTER validity flags. Continued use would result in extra work for the tax offices and, in the worst-case scenario, the return or declaration might not be able to be matched to the taxpayer.
Note:
Any amendments or corrections to e-balance sheets that have already been submitted must be made using the newly issued tax reference number (including the new tax office number). Any adjustment made using the old tax number or tax office number will have no effect, as no data is held there any longer. This applies equally to all registration and annual tax returns.

New features and fixes in version 17.0
Today, Opti.Tax Release 17 was officially released to all users. The new release includes numerous minor improvements and the new „Documentation“ module.
The „Documentation“ module enables all organisations to create, amongst other things, GoBD-compliant procedural documentation. This is based on specially developed taxonomies for procedural documentation and organisational data protection. In the application’s interview mode, the user enters their data in a structured manner and receives a complete document at the end. Individual taxonomy items can be flagged for follow-up, ensuring that the documentation is always kept up to date. The Outlook plug-in, which is also available with immediate effect, connects to Opti.Tax Release 17 and sends reminders for scheduled deadlines without the need to launch Opti.Tax.
2015
Submitting a correct data set for the e-balance sheet becomes more complex with every new version of the taxonomy that is published. Opti.Tax Release 1.10 helps users to simplify the process of capturing and generating a valid data set.
New features such as Live validation and expert guidance on complex links within the taxonomy make it easier to understand this difficult taxonomy. The commentary on the taxonomy of the E-Balance Sheet Guide The update from Stollfuß-Verlag to the new Taxonomy 5.3 is included, as are further new features and modules.
The Live validation offers – in addition to an interview and E-Balance Sheet Guide – further user support for creating a valid dataset. The live validation feature, which has been included since update 1.8, has been further improved in release 1.10 and includes, amongst other things:
- Displaying data entry prompts as data is being entered
- Display in the input field – highlighted when a flag is set
- Incomplete, implausible or incorrect entries are highlighted in colour and can be accessed directly via a link; this also applies to tuples – for example, the incorrect entry relating to a specific shareholder is highlighted
- All data entry instructions can be displayed and processed centrally in a separate window
- Descriptions and explanations of the taxonomy item: (Description of the taxonomy item: = documentation.de and explanations of the taxonomy item: = definitionGuidance.de)
