Meet our lecturer, Carola Zimbrich. Carola leads the ‘GoBD Theory and Practice’ course at the hsp Academy.

Hello, I’m Carola Zimbrich. I’m 36 years old, married, and work as a digital consultant at dpk digital GmbH in Hamburg.

What is your professional background?

I completed an apprenticeship as a legal and notarial assistant at a law and notary’s practice in Lüneburg, worked in this role for two years, and moved into office management at a tax consultancy in 2010. In 2014, I completed my part-time degree in business administration, and since 2017 I have been advising companies on digital accounting. I support software implementations and deliver training courses. Since 2018, I have also been providing consultancy services in the areas of GoBD and procedural documentation, process modelling and process documentation, as well as digital HR and the digital office.

What made you want to take part in this course as a lecturer?

For us – that is, for Raphael and me – devising a learning programme for this course on such a scale was a completely new challenge. We wanted to use this course as an opportunity to play an active part in making the subject of GoBD more accessible. I myself began in 2018 to put GoBD theory into practice using the resources available at the time. These resources consisted of the first edition of the GoBD guidance document, various specialist literature and a range of sample documentation. Today, we not only produce procedural documentation for companies, but also assist them in setting up their business processes in a GoBD-compliant manner.

What can participants expect from your course? What makes it stand out?

In our course, we naturally cover the theory behind the GoBD, but above all we draw on our many years of experience to provide practical insights using clear examples. The GoBD sets out a framework of rules that defines the requirements for IT-supported accounting. This affects virtually every area of a business, whether it be email inboxes, invoice approval, invoicing or even an ERP system. Data is generated in all systems and departments, which ultimately needs to be fed into the accounts. In our work, we help to design and document these processes in accordance with GoBD, and we incorporate this practical knowledge into our course.
