Meet our lecturer Julian Ferring from the hsp Academy know.

Hello, my name is Julian Ferring. I am a tax adviser and work for W+ST, a group comprising solicitors, chartered accountants and tax advisers. We are mainly active in south-west Germany. I’m originally from the Saarland myself, from a family of five, and in fact four of us work in tax law.

What is your professional background?

I started out on a work-study programme at the ASW Berufsakademie, which included working with W+ST. I then went on to do a Master’s degree in tax law, and towards the end of my studies I explored the topic of tax compliance and, together with W+ST, developed an initial practice-oriented approach. And I’ve been fascinated by this subject ever since.

What made you want to get involved as a lecturer on this course?

When I was asked to contribute to this course as a lecturer, I was actually thrilled straight away. A course like this always offers the lecturer another opportunity to engage with the subject in depth. And what could be better than sharing the knowledge you’ve acquired with others?

What can participants expect from your course? What makes it stand out?

As part of this course, we have tried to break down the very extensive topic of tax compliance into short video modules. In total, there are now ten video modules, covering everything from theory to practical application. What’s more, once a month we’ll be offering the chance to discuss things with us via a video call. I’m really looking forward to that.
