2018 End-of-Year Seminar in Kassel: From pay to procedural documentation – a successful event.

The hsp’s end-of-year seminar

On 4 and 5 December, it was that time of year again: at its end-of-year seminar, hsp updated its clients on the latest developments in taxonomies, legislative changes and the resulting updates to hsp’s software solutions. Expert insight from product specialists was also provided. The topics covered at the end-of-year seminar were correspondingly wide-ranging: from payroll accounting and Annual accounts: disclosure, the digital financial report and the procedural documentation. On the first day of the event, the focus was entirely on the new XBA Payroll and HR system. Following a brief welcome to the participants, the event kicked off with a presentation by Mr Michael Peters (XBA Software AG) introducing the XBA software. This was followed by a presentation and discussion of new legislative changes due to come into force in January 2019.

On the second day of the event, the focus was on financial accounting, the annual accounts, digital financial reporting and legislative changes due to come into force from January 2019. Another key topic was procedural documentation and Opti.Tax Doku. Among others, Mr Paul Liese, Managing Director of hsp, spoke on this subject. He pointed out that the consequences of missing or incorrect procedural documentation vary, but should not be underestimated.

In his talk, Mr Liese made a compelling case that it is becoming increasingly important to have a Preparing procedural documentation before an audit takes place. That is precisely why hsp has developed Opti.Tax.Doku and other products.

Ms Alice Siegert, a lawyer and deputy head of the Hamburg Tax Office, spoke on the subject of tax audits and cash register inspections. Mr Wolfgang Schönwaldt reported on recent developments in financial accounting and answered questions from participants, offering tips and tricks along the way. The presentations were well received by the approximately 16 seminar participants. hsp would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants for making this a successful event.
