Automatic translation of software and content: what you need to know
What is DeepL?
DeepL is an AI-powered translation service provided by the Cologne-based company of the same name and is regarded as the highest-quality tool of its kind, particularly for European languages. As well as offering a web-based translator and other products, DeepL enables comprehensive integration with software tools such as Opti.Tax.
What does DeepL translate automatically?
Once you have enabled the DeepL integration in Opti.Tax, you can select which languages are to be automatically recognised and translated in future. Opti.Tax will then recognise each user’s selected language and translate the entire software into that language. This includes menus, descriptions, messages, documents and more. For messages and documents, you can always view the original version with a single click.
How reliable are DeepL translations?
Highly reliable. DeepL’s API delivers the same globally acclaimed quality as its web interface, as the translation engine is identical. As with any use of technology, 100 per cent accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Any specialist content should be checked for accuracy by a human expert before it is used or transmitted. The DeepL integration is primarily designed to significantly simplify communication within multilingual teams.
Multilingual teams no longer work at cross purposes, but work together.
Less explaining and correcting, and finally understanding everything straight away.
DeepL has a good command of specialist terminology and is suitable for professional use.

How teamwork works without language barriers
Opti.Tax automatically detects the language of the computer being used
When a user logs in to Opti.Tax Cloud via a PC or Mac, the cloud system automatically detects the operating system’s default language. The entire interface is immediately switched to that language. If any content within the Opti.Tax Cloud is not yet available in that language, it will be automatically translated. The automatically generated translations are stored in the cloud database and are therefore immediately available to other users in the same language.
An international team, many languages, one shared project
Thanks to the DeepL integration, several people can work on a task at the same time in the Opti.Tax Cloud, even if they speak different languages. For example, one person might be writing in Chinese, another in German and a third in French. Using the chat function within the task or via the Opti.Tax Cloud app for Microsoft Teams, all participants can communicate in their own language. All entries are automatically displayed to the other participants in their respective languages.
Process documentation translated automatically
Users who speak other languages can read any process documentation or work instructions published in Opti.Tax in their own languages. Documents and instructions are automatically translated into the user’s default language. This enables international, multilingual corporations make their processes and policies immediately available to subsidiaries abroad. Even staff within the company who do not speak German can understand the information in full and without any disruption.
