Meet our lecturer, Andrea Treib. Andrea leads the TCMS course at the hsp Academy.

Hello and a warm welcome! My name is Andrea Treib. I am 41 years old and I come from the beautiful Saarland.

What is your professional background?

I work for W+ST, an audit and tax consultancy group headquartered in Dillingen in the Saarland. I am a qualified tax adviser and chartered accountant by training, but my work now focuses primarily on business management issues; in this context, a major area of my work involves the design and implementation of control systems, risk management systems and, indeed, compliance systems.

What made you want to get involved as a lecturer on this course?

I find it very exciting to incorporate what I consider to be a very good solution into a training programme, and to help both colleagues in the profession and business owners who are grappling with this topic to make progress, whilst working together on improvements and discussing them. And this works very well both through our online course and via the planned meetings, where practical topics can be discussed and explored during live calls.

What can participants expect from your course? What makes it stand out?

In relation to my main area of work, compliance consultancy, we at W+ST have developed a framework that enables small and medium-sized enterprises in particular to ensure their tax processes are compliant, to review them and to assess them, whilst at the same time being able to handle these matters in a very practical way without tying up significant amounts of time or staff resources. I believe that tax compliance is an issue that tax advisers must fundamentally address in the interests of their clients, but the subject is so specialised that not every practice has the internal resources to develop a framework that can then be provided to their clients. In this respect, I believe that our solution can also be a solution for many other colleagues in the profession. And in this context, I find it very exciting to make our solution available in collaboration with hsp, which has integrated our concept into a corresponding software programme. This course can help many fellow professionals to support and advise their clients in this area. What makes our course so special? I think one key point is certainly that we do not simply deliver lectures in a monologue-style format and present our view of things, but have also included a monthly live call. It is very important to us that we discuss our perspective with fellow professionals and companies wishing to use this solution, but also that we work together on practical problems and help each other make progress, so that we can implement tax compliance for our clients in the best possible way.
