We use countless software programmes in our professional and private lives. Very few of them really inspire us. Computer games are often among them. But when it comes to programmes for our day-to-day work, we usually just put up with them – sometimes with a nagging feeling of unease, sometimes without. But what exactly does software need to deliver to inspire enthusiasm? hsp CEO Paul Liese met someone who might know the answer: Opti.Tax user Sonja Sommer. She is certainly enthusiastic. In conversation with Paul, she explained how her enthusiasm for Opti.Tax was sparked.

Paul travelled to Lüneburg for his interview with Sonja. There, our interviewee works at vemeto GmbH as a digitalisation consultant. The company provides procedural documentation and visualisations of current processes in the field of accounting and tax-related data. vemeto GmbH is based in Römerberg near Speyer. Sonja is currently working on the ‘vemeto Go’ concept for small and micro-enterprises. The software platform used for this Opti.Tax by hsp is used.

However, there had already been a previous point of contact between the software and the specialist: in early 2022, Sonja was, as she puts it, „thrown“ into using the application without warning. The sheer range of functions and the minimal training time Sonja was given led to her feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. As a result, Sonja’s initial interactions with hsp were anything but smooth. A few weeks ago, Paul met her again – and Sonja’s opinion of the Opti.Tax software had done a complete U-turn. She had come to love the software. How did this come about?

Accept help, hsp.community use

Nowadays, Sonja works with the software every day. She uses the Opti.Tax Cloud, She uses templates; she makes full use of the application’s features. What does Sonja recommend to colleagues who work in Opti.Tax want to or need to get started? First of all, Sonja advises trying out the software thoroughly. Even if you make mistakes, there’s not much that can go wrong. „The important thing is: just do it,“ she states unequivocally. In addition, you should take advantage of hsp’s introductory training courses, where beginners can learn the basics. Sonja also recommends the Opti.Tax e-learning modules.

As well as technical knowledge, Sonja emphasises the value of thorough communication, particularly with clients. She therefore makes use of the cloud functionality and continually adapts it to the needs of individual clients. Furthermore, the hsp.community can be used to exchange ideas, clarify all sorts of questions and inspire one another. The e-learning courses can be found there, with the orange wave on the preview image indicating that this course is free of charge.
