Meet our lecturer, Raphael Kammer. Raphael leads the ‘GoBD Theory and Practice’ course at the hsp Academy.

Hello there! My name is Raphael Kammer. I’m from Hamburg and live right here in the city centre, less than 500 metres from the main railway station. I’m married and have two children.

What is your professional background?

Alongside various entrepreneurial and self-employed ventures, I studied law and business administration. After working at a management consultancy specialising in the restructuring of micro-enterprises, I joined a medium-sized multidisciplinary law firm in Hamburg, where I worked in tax consultancy. My work in tax consultancy quickly led me into the field of digitalisation, as I helped many companies to optimise their processes through the use of digital technologies – particularly in accounting, of course.

What made you want to get involved as a lecturer on this course?

I am delighted to be involved in the digitalisation consultant course because I have had the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of joining the digitalisation consultancy team at a law firm and then helping to build up this division in collaboration with the firm. We set up our own company at the end of 2018 and have been active in the market ever since, supporting medium-sized businesses with the digitalisation of their processes. I can only wholeheartedly recommend this topic to all law firms today, which is why I’m delighted to be able to play my part in helping law firms remain competitive for the future.

What can participants expect from your course? What makes it stand out?

In our module „GoBD Theory and Practice“, my colleague Carola Zimbrich and I provide an insight into the tax authorities’ requirements for modern, digital accounting. Using real-world examples, we aim to make the subject as accessible as possible, and we naturally also seek to discuss specific practical questions in the follow-up lecturer calls with anyone who would like to explore the topic further. We really appreciate this unique aspect of the course, and it’s what has actually prompted us to get actively involved here.
