Meet our lecturer, Torsten Busse-Stein. Torsten leads the course on Process Visualisation and Process Modelling with BPMN 2.0 at the hsp Academy.

Hello from the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg. My name is Torsten Busse-Stein. I’m here today to give you a bit of an insight into the topic of process visualisation via e-learning. I was born in Magdeburg, have been up here in the north for over 20 years and always enjoy being here. I’m a child of the water. My three sons live here with me; I’m married and live in the north, both professionally and privately. And I’m always keen to drive my projects forward.

What is your professional background?

Where do I come from? I come from a very traditional background. I studied accounting, management control and business logistics, obtained my business degree here in Hamburg, and have spent the last 20 years working in various roles in the fields of bookkeeping, finance and accounting, group consolidation and management control. We’ve set up departments and formed teams to tackle the various issues. We got involved in digitalisation very, very early on. Process documentation, process analysis and process modelling – that’s our speciality and, of course, mine as well. Together with bsp GmbH, we have colleagues on board who are also helping to drive this area forward. We want to – and we are able to – manage these areas very, very effectively. And that is also the background to this e-learning course.

What made you want to get involved as a lecturer on this course?

When hsp – and Paul Liese in particular – approached me and asked if I’d like to contribute as a lecturer to a digital course, I was immediately enthusiastic. The format appealed to me. As a lecturer, I hadn’t come across anything like this before. We simply wanted to be part of something new. The topic was also very exciting. So we’ve taken on the subject of business process modelling and would like to share this with you through this e-learning course.

What can participants expect from your course? What makes it stand out?

In this e-learning course on Business Process Modelling and Notation, we will, of course, introduce you to the language, the standard icons available and the way in which this language works – because it has the advantage of being standardised. It is therefore used in many other languages as well. This means we’re able to map, model, visualise and even restructure a process on a global scale. And that’s exactly what you can expect from this e-learning course: learning how to use BPMN and, of course, how to apply it in Opti.Tax Doku, where we can simply apply this language once again, bring it to life and provide you with a tool that will enable you to work even more efficiently and effectively with Opti.Tax Doku. And I’m really looking forward to that.
