hsp Update January 2023: Preview of Opti.Tax Release 23.0

On the last Friday of each month, the live programme „hsp live at 11“ focuses on updates from hsp. This includes news about the Opti.Tax software, from the hsp.community, on partnerships and similar topics. The January update will cover, amongst other things, the upcoming Opti.Tax Release 23.0.

First of all, Paul would like to answer the question of how to Opti.Tax Land Tax the property values or property tax assessment amounts are used for invoicing the client. By right-clicking on the client, you can link them to ADDISON OnceClick. Once linked, you can right-click on a property that has been sent in the property tax project and select the menu option „Transfer property value“.

This is not yet possible in DATEV, but work is underway on it. Alternatively, you can currently do the following in DATEV: In the client overview, go to „Window -> Show Window -> Dispatch History“ at the top. There is an icon in the top right-hand corner showing a sheet of paper with an upward-pointing arrow. This allows you to export the displayed data. This applies to every table in the Opti.Tax programme. Once the exported table has been opened in Excel, you will find the columns ‘Property Tax Value’ and ‘Property Tax Assessment Amount’, as well as both values shown separately without any exemptions or concessions.

Property tax assessment: Lodging an appeal in Opti.Tax Property Tax

The issue of lodging an appeal plays a role in the Council tax This currently plays a major role. In Opti.Tax Property Tax, this is very straightforward. To do this, right-click on a property and select the menu option „Lodge an objection“. A window will appear in which the stored master data has already been populated. If any details are missing, this will be indicated by prompts. Under „Reasons“, at least one reason must be entered. When providing a reason, you can use templates that have already been saved by colleagues in the hsp database. To do this, click on „Import template“ to access the database.

If you wish to submit your own explanatory text, you can send it to the hsp by clicking on „Publish“. Following a brief review, the text will be sent to all licence holders of Opti.Tax Land Tax made available. The text is added to the database. This way, everyone involved benefits from each other’s work, and no one has to start from scratch. An important note: ERiC (ELSTER Rich Client) only allows 2,000 characters, including spaces. You can then attach files and provide an email address for feedback. This is followed by a validation check and a preview of the submission. If everything is in order, the whole thing can be sent off after you have confirmed the terms and conditions.

Fine-tuning for a more user-friendly experience

Another question that has been raised with Support: How can all attachments for a property be saved in one place? To do this, simply click on the relevant property, then right-click at the bottom and select „Result documents -> Save as“. All documents will now be saved to the file system. Please note that in version 22.0.26, files with a size of 0 kB may be generated. This bug will be fixed in the upcoming release.

Next section: Transfer pricing. In transfer pricing documentation, a previously exported transaction file in CSV format can be imported for a service relationship. A new feature is the „New transaction“ function. To use this, select the service relationship so that it is highlighted in grey at the top of the field. This brings up the plus symbol, allowing you to enter transaction details. A further improvement relates to reporting. It is often the case that line breaks are not managed optimally in these reports. This will be better controlled in future.

News from the hsp.community

At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the BAFA launched a funding scheme for business consultancy services. To qualify, consultants had to be accredited by the BAFA. This enabled businesses to receive grants for consultancy services. The BAFA has now extended the funding programme, with the maximum grant amount being raised slightly – previously 50 % of 3,000 euros, now 50 % of 3,500 euros (subject to change). There is a group on the hsp.community called „Funding (BAFA, GoDigital, etc.)“. Paul has posted a document there setting out all the details of the funding programme. Opti.Tax offers the option to submit the application using software support, to draft the consultancy report and to have it checked by a specialist to see if any information is missing – and, if so, which details. In addition, the consultancy report can be sent to hsp for quality control.

The next programme will focus on the ICS (Internal Control System). Our guest will be Viktor Rebant, who also lectures on the ICS at the hsp Academy.
