In this interview, we introduce you to Christian Schreiner. Christian is a support staff member at hsp and is responsible for all enquiries relating to Opti.Suite. The interview was conducted by our Art Director, Matin Mehrabi.

The interview: in words and writing

Thank you very much for being here today and for taking the time to do this. To answer the first question: what exactly do you do at hsp?

I work in support – both technical and functional. Technical support means ensuring the application runs smoothly and that no errors occur. Functional support means ensuring customers can get to grips with the application, that they have no problems using it, and that the whole process – including, for example, in Opti.Tax – is ultimately validated. For business-related queries, we sometimes charge a fee; technical support is, of course, free of charge. I’m also part of the testing team, which means we test the applications to ensure no errors occur. That’s essentially what my job involves.

So support and quality control are your areas of responsibility.

That's right.

How did you first come across HSP?

I found a job advert from hsp online. I applied for it and was then offered the job.

What is your educational background? What did you originally study or train in?

First, I took my A-levels. Then I started studying computer science, which didn’t go quite so well, so I switched to IT and have just started my apprenticeship here as an IT specialist (specialising in systems integration).

How are you getting on at hsp?

Right. The people I did my training with are all very nice and friendly. We get on really well and have a good, collegial relationship.

I can confirm that. What are your plans for the future? What are you planning to do next?

My aim is to improve the application – through quality management – so that fewer people ring up, there are fewer queries, and the application becomes easier to use. And overall, I hope the company continues to make progress.
